launching nda-ko, a black culture space in amsterdam for music, food, art, literature & fashion.

Founders: Chloé Siassia, Élisa Gatet / Co-creators: Aldrick Degla, Mahawa Suma, Kyle Ayuba, Mathieu Wendi, Seki Shiwoku

Nda-ko means Home in Lingala and was born with the idea that the Western world needs a home and space for Black creators and thinkers to expose their craft to the masses. Nda-ko is also a chance to create, get inspired, and mingle with like-minded individuals in a safe space.

Each month, Nda-ko hosts events in Amsterdam with incredible Black Change Agents that are helping reshape the narratives, through dinners, dance parties, literature readings, movie screenings and more.

We launched October 2022 with a private dinner at Studio Lindengracht in Amsterdam. The dinner was hosted by founder of Black Achievement Month, John Leerdam, and joined by award-winning actor Emmanuel Ohene Boafo. John inspired the menu for the evening, designed by Chef Elisa Gatet. The evening continued with Nda-ko’s launch party hosted by Stewww, and with over 500 attendees.

Nda-ko continues to host cultural events in Amsterdam on an ongoing basis.
